The story of Lapis Lazuli:
Lapis Lazuli was traded along the Silk Road and is a highly prized semi- precious stone. The deep blue stone has veins of golden shining Pyrite like little stars. Lapis is the Latin word for stone, Lazuli the Latin word stemming from Arabic means ‘heaven’ or ‘sky’. Thousands of years ago, Persian nobility wore lapis to thwart danger. It was also the base for ultramarine paint used by the Renaissance painters. This gemstone symbolizes power, wisdom, love and psychic ability. Lapis is the stone of truth and friendship. Rubbing lapis results in positive feelings.
